‘Gone Down A Bit’: Kane Expresses Feelings On Premier League Return

Harry Kane, Bayern Munich and England’s talisman, has expressed his thoughts on his future amid speculation of a return to the Premier League in the coming years.

Since departing Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, the 32-year-old has broken records for fun, most notably being the first Bundesliga player to score 11 goals in their first six matches of the season.

Kane has already scored 132 goals in 106 appearances for Bayern – 103 of his own and 29 assists – but his contract at the Allianz Arena expires at the conclusion of the 2026-27 season.

Kane has 213 Premier League goals for Tottenham and needs 47 more to tie Shearer at the top of the rankings, but he revealed to reporters during an England press conference that his desire to return to his country has diminished.

When asked about the possibility of signing a new contract with Bayern and returning to Premier League, Kane said, “In terms of staying there longer, I could definitely see that,” according to The Mirror.

“I have not yet had those conversations with Bayern, but if they do arise, I am willing to talk and have an honest chat. Obviously, everything depends on how the following year goes and what we do together.

“Right now, I would say we are in a terrific situation, and I am not worrying about anything else. In terms of the Premier League, I am not sure.

“Now that I’ve been there for a few years, I’d say it’s gone down a little bit, but not by much, and I wouldn’t say I’d never return. What I’ve learned during my career is that other possibilities and timings arise, and everything fall into place. Going back to my first point, I am absolutely committed to Bayern.”

Kane returned to the England squad after suffering an injury scare during Bayern’s recent 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt, but the 32-year-old is expected to be fit for the Three Lions’ upcoming games against Wales and Latvia.
