Bellingham, Foden Left Out Of England Squad

Thomas Tuchel has reportedly left out Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden of the England squad for their upcoming games against Wales and Latvia.

Bellingham has played in Real Madrid’s last four games across all competitions since returning from a two-month absence due to shoulder surgery.

According to the Daily Mail, the Madrid midfielder was left out of the 24-man squad that head coach Thomas Tuchel selected, which also excluded Foden, an attacking midfielder who has found his form again at Manchester City.

However, the major exclusion is Bellingham, one of the most well-known soccer players in the world. He had some significant moments during the road to the European Championship final last year, most notably a late equalizer with an overhead kick against Slovakia in the round of 16, and was voted England Player of the Year for the 2024–25 season on Wednesday.

Tuchel apologized to Bellingham in August for stating that the midfielder’s actions “can be a bit repulsive.”

The comment was made in a radio interview the day after a June friendly loss to Senegal, and Tuchel said there was “no message, no hidden agenda” behind it.

England will play Wales in a friendly match on Thursday before a World Cup qualifying match in Latvia five days later.
