FIFA Unveils Official 2026 World Cup Ball

FIFA has officially launched the match ball for the 2026 World Cup, named “TRIONDA,” in a milestone moment for the tournament.

The ball’s name comes from Spanish, meaning “three waves,” symbolizing unity between the host nations: Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Its striking design features red, green and blue, with national emblems including Canada’s maple leaf, Mexico’s eagle and the U.S. star, reports Macau Business.

“TRIONDA” introduces a new four-panel structure with textured surfaces and deeper seams to enhance stability, grip and overall control.

Connected Technology For Refereeing

A motion sensor is embedded inside, enabling connected ball technology to track touches and support VAR decisions in real time.

FIFA confirmed the data would help referees, particularly with offside calls, ensuring quicker and more accurate judgments during tournament matches.

“This is a beauty,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino said proudly, adding he looks forward to “the greatest World Cup ever.”
