Garnacho Opens Up On Amorim Treatment At Man United

Alejandro Garnacho has reportedly revealed that being sidelined by Ruben Amorim is the “bad moment in life.”

Following Chelsea’s 1-0 Champions League victory over Benfica, the Argentine refused to criticize Manchester United after having a better performance.

Upon making his debut in the first team, Garnacho quickly became a favourite at Old Trafford after joining United’s academy in 2020 at the age of 16.

However, after losing favor under Amorim, he was suspended along with Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia as part of a five-man “bomb squad” that trained alone in the summer, casting doubt on his future at the club.

The 21-year-old winger eventually negotiated a £40 million move to Chelsea during the transfer window to revitalize his career.

His cross resulted in the own goal that ruined Jose Mourinho’s return with Benfica on Tuesday night.

However, when asked about the difficult conclusion to his United career, Garnacho opted against hitting back and avoided any direct reference to Amorim.

Garnacho Spoke About His Last Moments As A Man United Player

He told TNT Sports as cited by The Manchester Evening News: “I think it was a difficult moment there, just training alone.

“But I have nothing bad to say about the club, my old club Manchester United. It was just a bad moment in life but now I’m very happy to be here and to play in this competition and to get the three points today.

Following the Argentina international’s interrupted preseason training, Enzo Maresca has been adapting Garnacho to life at Chelsea bit by bit.
Before making a difficult debut start for the Blues in their lackluster League Cup victory over Lincoln City, he was benched during his return to Old Trafford two weeks ago.
