Slot Calls Up Teenage Star To Liverpool Training Ahead Of Galatasaray Clash

Liverpool have reportedly undergone rigorous training in preparation for their Champions League matchup with Galatasaray.

The Reds are hoping to recover after losing 2-1 at Crystal Palace last weekend, ending their flawless start to the season. At Selhurst Park, Arne Slot’s team fell far short of their best, and they had no reason to be upset about their first loss of the season.

Liverpool will now focus on Europe in an attempt to advance to the Champions League knockout stage by defeating Galatasaray tomorrow night.

A top-eight finish will guarantee a spot in the round of 16. The Reds defeated Atletico Madrid 3-2 in their first league phase match.

Before leaving for Istanbul later today, Slot’s team trained in an open session at the AXA Training Center.

Nyoni Could Feature For Liverpool Against Galatasaray

According to the Liverpool World, youngster Trey Nyoni could earn himself a place on the bench with UEFA allowing 12 substitutes in a match-day squad.

At the AXA Training Center, the 18-year-old midfielder hung out with Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and other players. Nyoni started last week’s match against Southampton and is included on Liverpool’s List B.

Speaking on Nyoni during pre-season in 2024, Slot said: “We are really careful with him. He doesn’t join every session. You can see his quality. He needs some time to grow to play at Premier League level but he’s an interesting player.”

Hugo Ekitike is set to return to the squad against Galatasaray and could start after Alexander Isak played 84 minutes against Palace.
The Frenchman was suspended against the Eagles, having been sent off for a second yellow card after taking off his shirt to celebrate scoring the winner in a 2-1 triumph against Southampton in the Carabao Cup.
