Man United Respond To Xavi Interest As Amorim Pressure Mounts

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is under massive pressure after another defeat, but the club has made a clear decision.

United lost 3-1 to Brentford, leaving them 14th in the Premier League with just two wins from their first seven matches.

Since replacing Erik ten Hag last November, Amorim has failed to deliver consistency, earning only 33 points from 34 league games.

Frustrated fans and pundits, including Joe Cole, are calling for his dismissal, but the Manchester United board remains surprisingly patient, reports Metro.

Reports suggested the club had drawn up replacements, with Gareth Southgate, Oliver Glasner, and Andoni Iraola linked to Old Trafford.

However, BBC Sport claim United officials remain supportive, insisting Amorim deserves the full season to prove himself despite disappointing results.

Amorim himself dismissed speculation, saying he does not worry about his job and will give everything until told otherwise.

Barcelona icon Xavi has reportedly shown interest in replacing Amorim, with Fabrizio Romano revealing he would accept the role immediately.

Xavi has been studying Premier League football and sees Old Trafford as an attractive challenge, despite United’s lack of European competition.

The 45-year-old won eight La Liga titles and four Champions Leagues as a player before managing Barcelona to domestic success.

Amorim faces crucial tests ahead, starting with a must-win clash against newly-promoted Sunderland at Old Trafford, where defeat could prove disastrous.
