Gavi Barcelona midfielder could miss five months of the season following knee surgery.
The 21-year-old played in Barcelona’s first two matches of the season before hurting his right knee during a training session in August.
There were fears that the Spain international has experienced a recurrence of his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) damage from 2023.
Despite the fact that Gavi’s scan findings showed he had escaped an ACL injury, he underwent surgery to repair damaged cartilage.

When Gavi made his Barcelona debut in 2021, he became the club’s fourth youngest debutant ever.
He’s scored 10 goals in 155 games and won five awards.
He suffered an ACL tear while on international duty with Spain in November 2023, which sidelined him for 11 months.
Barcelona is second in La Liga, five points behind Real Madrid with one game in hand.
