Real Madrid Deny Meeting With Superstar’s Agent To Discuss Renewal

Late on Monday, reports surfaced of a potential meeting in Valdebebas between Vinicius Jr.’s representative, Frederico Pena, and Real Madrid’s sporting management.

The alleged encounter took place shortly after the Brazilian was substituted against Espanyol on Saturday and made a furious gesture.

It was also reported that the meeting coincided with Vinicius’ training session for tonight’s match versus Levante.

Real Madrid denies meeting.

However, as Mundo Deportivo reports, Real Madrid unequivocally denies that such a face-to-face meeting occurred between Vinicius’ agent and the club’s sporting management.

They believe that Pena’s appearance at Valdebebas is regular, occurring every two or three weeks, especially because Vinicius is not the only Real Madrid player he represents.

Furthermore, they claim that there is nothing new about Vinicius’ condition compared to prior weeks, notably his future contract.

It is not now on the club’s agenda, owing to the fact that his contract does not expire until June 2027, which allows for further conversations about his renewal.

This stands in contrast to allegations that the meeting took place and that Vinicius’ agent spent more than two hours with the club’s general director, Jose Angel Sanchez, and Juni Calafat.

It is worth noting that the Brazilian has yet to play a single match this season under Xabi Alonso. Either he started and was substituted before the 90-minute mark, or he came off the bench.

Vinicius’ current agreement is worth approximately €15 million net per season. His initial plan was to make the same as Kylian Mbappe.

The former PSG forward is paid €15 million under his contract, but he also has a signing bonus agreed upon with the club after coming as a free agent in June last year.

The award totals €40 million net over five seasons, which equates to around €8 million per season for the new No. 10. Mbappe’s annual contract totals €23 million.
