The Huge Cost For Man United To Sack Amorim Amid Record Revenue

Manchester United are a club currently in disarray with manager Ruben Amorim been given three games to keep his job at Old Trafford.

This comes after they lost to rivals Man City 3-0, to cement their worst start in Premier League’s history.

Amorim is under a lot of criticism, as a number of pundits and former players have called for United to sack him less than a year after they hired him following the of firing Erik Ten Hag last season.

Despite United’s on-field difficulties, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has had a “good” year with the club, as evidenced by record revenue levels.

However, there have been talks on how much would Ratcliffe and the United owners have to pay if Amorim was fired.

Man United Set To Host Chelsea

The club may have to make a significant decision before United’s next match against an impressive Chelsea team. They might choose to retain Amorim as manager or have to spend a significant amount of money and hire a new one.

According to the Daily Mail, if United were to fire Amorim before his appointment’s first anniversary, which is in less than seven weeks, he would receive about £12 million.

The reason for this is that he would be fired during the first year of his contract. According to the report, if the Portuguese was sacked, his backroom staff would also get a payoff.

United already paid Sporting CP £9.2 million in compensation to get Amorim in the first place, so the total cost of his management (and dismissal) will come to £21.2 million.

Amorim signed a deal worth £6.5 million a season, so the total expense will come to £27.7 million, which is as much as some of United’s recent transfer failures.
