Newcastle Ready To Break Transfer Record For Barcelona Star

Newcastle United are reportedly planning to launch a club-record move for a Barcelona forward.

Several reports have emerged that there is a likelihood that the attacking midfielder will leave Hansi Flick’s team to pursue an adventure at St. James’ Park.

In the summer, Newcastle acquired Nick Woltemade, Anthony Elanga, Yoane Wissa, Jacob Ramsey, Malick Thiaw, Aaron Ramsdale, and Antonito Cordero, while Barcelona added Joan Garcia, Roony Bardghji, and Marcus Rashford.

According to Team Talk, Newcastle have set their sights on Barcelona attacking midfielder, Dani Olmo ahead of their mouthwatering clash against Barca.

Dani Olmo “will leave with complete certainty next summer” if “a good offer arrives,” according to the news outlet.

Olmo, who made his debut for Dinamo Zagreb at the age of 16 years and nine months, became the youngest foreign player to play for the Croatian team, and Newcastle are believed to be willing to pay €90 million (£78 million, $106 million) for him.

Olmo would become Newcastle’s most expensive acquisition with such a huge sum. Woltemade presently holds that title.

Newcastle paid €79 million (£68.3 million, $93.1 million) to sign Woltemade from VfB Stuttgart during the summer transfer window.

Olmo “wants to succeed” in Barcelona, according to E-Noticies, but he wants to do it by playing every week and becoming a mainstay in Flick’s squad.

That isn’t viable right now, since Flick primarily uses the 27-year-old as a substitute.

Olmo made just 13 La Liga games and six Champions League starts last season after joining Barcelona from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2024.
