Barcelona midfielder, Gavi sustained a knee discomfort from a little more than a week ago and this has raised concerns at the club.
The 21-year-old midfielder missed the trip to Vallecas after developing the problem during training right before the match against Rayo Vallecano.
At first, the issue was thought to be minor, and Hansi Flick even anticipated that Gavi would return for the match against Valencia shortly after the international break.
But the youngster’s issue hasn’t really eased and in recent days, there have been rumors that he might need surgery to fix the problem.

According to AS as reported by Barca Universal, there is increasing support in Barcelona for arthroscopic surgery to clear the joint and get rid of the bothersome feelings that are keeping Gavi from training normally.
To solve this issue, medical staff have tried a number of treatments, but none have produced the expected outcomes. The young fan favourite has so already been ruled out of the games against Newcastle United, Valencia, and even more.
In the event that surgery is necessary, it will be less invasive, and the midfield player should return in a little more than a month.
Gavi Set To Miss A Number Of Games If He Undergoes Surgery
The timing would therefore postpone Gavi’s return until after the international break in October. He would undoubtedly miss seven games: two in the Champions League (against Newcastle and PSG) and five in La Liga (against Valencia, Getafe, Oviedo, Real Sociedad, and Sevilla).
