Real Madrid Star Pull Out Of International Duty Through Injury

The first international break of the season has not been favourable to Real Madrid, who have won their first three La Liga games. Although, it has helped with an injury scenario for one of their players.

Real Madrid’s goalkeepers have suffered from a number of injuries in recent years. After injuring his ACL, Thibaut Courtois missed nearly the whole 2023–24 season.

The Belgian also experienced a number of problems throughout the 2024–25 season. However, Andriy Lunin was there to serve as his deputy at this time.

Although he has been a very reliable backup for Real Madrid in recent years, Lunin, who still ignites transfer rumors, is not above his own injury problems.

In recent days, Diario AS has reported that he is dealing with a back issue, which is the most recent development.

Lunin Withdraws From Ukraine’s World Cup Qualifiers

According to Football Espana, in order to return to Real Madrid for medical examinations and treatment, Lunin, whose problem was first discovered during the warm-up prior to los Blancos’ victory over Mallorca last weekend, has been left out of Ukraine’s squad for their forthcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against France and Azerbaijan.

Luckily for Real Madrid, Lunin should be fully recovered for the team’s first game following the international break—the trip to Real Sociedad. Although it’s a small matter, all parties agreed that no chances would be taken.
