The farewell video of Crystal Palace defender, Marc Guehi has reportedly surfaced online following the collapse of his £35 million transfer to Liverpool on deadline day.
Following Liverpool’s agreement with Palace and Guehi’s successful London medical, the England international was close to joining Anfield.
But when Brighton defender Igor Julio decided to sign with West Ham instead, Palace’s plans to bring in a replacement were dashed, and they were forced to stop the 25-year-old from departing.
That didn’t stop his goodbye video from appearing on X, though. Guehi’s best Palace moments since joining from Chelsea in 2021 were captured in the three-minute clip, which included goals, defensive highlights, and celebrations after the team’s FA Cup victory earlier this year.

In reference to his position as captain, it concluded with the words, “Thank you, Skip.”

Naturally, there won’t be a farewell for the time being. To the satisfaction of Palace supporters, who have watched him grow into one of the Premier League’s best defenders, Guehi is still at Selhurst Park. The 25-year-old helped England advance to the Euro 2024 final, solidifying his spot in the team.
He also got off to a great start this season, scoring in Palace’s 3-0 victory over Aston Villa and keeping them undefeated in all their six games across all competitions.
It’s unclear if Palace will be able to hold onto him past January, but fans will be delighted to have him around for however long it does.
