Barcelona Sign Goalkeeper On Free Transfer

Barcelona have officially completed the signing of 25-year-old goalkeeper Emilio Bernad, who joins Barça Atlètic on a free transfer.

Bernad arrives after leaving CD Teruel and has signed a contract with the reserve side until June 30, 2026, reports Barca Universal.

Bernad is scheduled to start training with his new teammates on Wednesday before the youth team’s opening league match.

The Catalan club considers him an experienced signing who will bring both stability and maturity to the developing squad.

His arrival is expected to strengthen the reserves and provide valuable competition for the goalkeeper position.

Experience And Stability For Barça Atlètic

Bernad’s career has spanned across several divisions of Spanish football.

Bernad has appeared in 28 Primera Federación matches, 33 Segunda Federación games, and 25 matches in Segunda B.

He also boasts experience in major competitions, including one Copa del Rey, one Segunda División A, and three UEFA Youth League matches.

At Barça Atlètic, Bernad will compete for minutes with Diego Kochen, often linked to the senior first team squad.
