Chelsea are reportedly considering a move for Barcelona’s 22-year-old midfielder Fermin Lopez, though no official contact has yet been made between the clubs.
The Premier League side are currently in discussions with the player’s representatives as they assess attacking midfield options in case of departures.

Lopez, contracted to Barcelona until 2029 after extending his deal in October 2024, featured heavily last season despite missing over a month with a thigh injury.
He made 46 appearances, largely from the bench, contributing eight goals and 10 assists.
The Spaniard scored in three of Barcelona’s final five matches, helping Hansi Flick’s side secure the La Liga title.
Having joined Barcelona from Real Betis at age 12, Lopez developed through La Masia.
After a loan stint at third-tier Linares in 2022-23, he established himself in the first team, scoring 11 goals in 43 appearances under Xavi.
He also made his senior Spain debut in June 2024 and has since earned a second cap, reports Athletic
Barcelona’s midfield depth remains strong, with Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Dani Olmo, Gavi, and Marc Casado all available, while promising youngster Marc Bernal is returning from an ACL injury.
Chelsea have strengthened their squad under Enzo Maresca this season, adding six players, including Dario Essugo from Sporting CP.
Meanwhile, midfielders Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Lesley Ugochukwu have departed on permanent deals, creating potential space for a new arrival.
