“We have to be careful,” Enzo Maresca said when asked about Estevao Willian and the possibility of the Brazilian teenager making his full Premier League debut for Chelsea against West Ham United.
The 18-year-old made his competitive debut for the club on Sunday afternoon, with Maresca introducing the promising youngster with about 35 minutes remaining against Crystal Palace. Estevao received a standing ovation from the majority of Blues fans inside Stamford Bridge, with many anticipating the winger to become a world-class player in the future. According to football insider.
While Estevao impressed in his appearance, Maresca cautioned against expecting too much from someone so young. Chelsea travel to West Ham on Friday night in search of their first victory of the season, and while the head coach hinted he may start at the London Stadium, he also admitted the team must be cautious with how they utilize the Brazilian.

“He is doing well since he arrived with us,” Maresca stated of Estevao. “Even throughout the training sessions. However, for me, he requires a road. We must proceed with caution because he is so little.
“He can definitely be an option for tomorrow from the start, given his performance against Palace. But we will see what happens after today’s session and then make a decision.”
Pedro Neto began on the right wing versus Palace five days ago, while Jamie Gittens made his debut on the other flank. The latter struggled, and there is a possibility that Neto will go to the left and Estevao will come in on the right.
