Arsenal Sent Clear Transfer Instruction Over Alexander Isak After Havertz Injury

Arsenal could be forced back into the transfer market following the news that Kai Havertz has suffered a knee injury, leaving Mikel Arteta short of attacking options.

The German international missed the Gunners’ open training session on Wednesday, with reports later confirming the setback could rule him out for several weeks.

It comes as a major blow after Havertz had become a key figure in Arteta’s forward line

Arsenal have already strengthened with the £63.7million signing of Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon, but with Havertz sidelined, the squad suddenly looks light again in the attacking department.

Isak Emerges As The Dream Target

Sporting director Andrea Berta is now expected to push for another high-profile addition, with Newcastle striker Alexander Isak back on the radar.

The Swede has long been admired at the Emirates, but his £150m valuation was previously considered out of reach.

However, the situation at St James’ Park has shifted dramatically, reports Football London.

Liverpool recently saw a £110m bid rejected, but Isak has reportedly refused to return to training in a bid to force through a move away from the Magpies.

Arsenal had initially weighed up moves for Viktor Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko, with the latter joining Manchester United earlier in the summer.

But Isak has always been viewed as the ideal signing for Arteta’s system.

With Havertz injured and Isak unsettled, the timing may finally be right for Arsenal to test Newcastle’s resolve with a late bid.

The Gunners now face a race against time to secure another forward before the window closes.
