Marcus Rashford Explains Why He Was So Angry At Manchester United-‘He Doesn’t Care!’

Marcus Rashford stated that former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho assisted him in becoming less “angry all the time”. Rashford, 27, stated that he would berate himself at The Red Devils if he did not play the ideal game, win or lose.

The Portuguese great was unconcerned with his team’s victory, and his laid-back demeanor had a significant impact on the England striker. Rashford, who is now on a season-long loan at Barcelona, was speaking with Gary Lineker and Micah Richards on The Rest is Football podcast.

When asked by Lineker which Manchester United coaches had the most influence on him, Rashford mentioned Louis Van Gaal, Mourinho, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Rashford dug into what set the three apart, and how Mourinho, who coached the club from 2016 to 2018, and his distinct style astonished him the most.

“Yeah, they’re [all three coaches] different, but [that’s] because we’ve had so many different managers,” Rashford added, referring to United’s eleven managers since 2012.

“It’s so difficult, it’s impossible for me to compare the managers, but when you’re a developing player, especially at a young age, you learn things that no one has ever taught you before.

“I’d never had a manager who was so focused on winning until Jose. Van Gaal wasn’t just interested in winning; he also wanted to play a beautiful style of football. Jose doesn’t care. Do you understand what I mean?

“As long as you win, of course; if you had a choice, he’d prefer you to play well. If you win, you win. “You proceed to the next game.”

He added that Mourinho’s approach was a welcome change for him, saying, “He [Mourinho] had this mindset.
