Pep Guardiola Makes An Honest Man City Claim As Everton Look To Complete Jack Grealish’s Transfer

Pep Guardiola has stated that he is satisfied with Manchester City’s squad ahead of the start of the Premier League season, despite ignoring Jack Grealish yet again.

The winger had a poor 2024-25 season. Grealish made only seven Premier League appearances and was left on the bench in the FA Cup final defeat to Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium.

He was later dropped from City’s team for the Club World Cup earlier this summer. Grealish has been out of favour since the Etihad Stadium side returned to duty, as he was not included in Guardiola’s starting lineup for a 3-0 victory over Palermo.

Everton want to sign Grealish, who was bought for £100 million from Aston Villa four years ago, on loan for the upcoming season. David Moyes wants to improve his attacking options, and the Toffees have heard that Grealish is open to a transfer to Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Following the Palermo game, Guardiola stated on the club’s website: “The three additions we made before the World Cup were absolutely good. Cherki, Rayan Ait Nouri, and Tijani Reijnders. Similar to [Abdukodir] Khusanov in January. He demonstrated his potential tonight, and he is one of the fastest players I’ve seen.

“We have not played many games. We trained well, but now we’ll return to Manchester, attempt to have a nice week, and prepare for the games. I am pleased with the squad since the USA and our World Cup. We had a great feeling there.”
