Thomas Partey has reportedly made an appearance in court on Tuesday after being charged with five charges of rape and one count of sexual assault last month.
The 32-year-old is expected to sign a two-year contract with Spanish team Villarreal after being charged four days following his contract expiration at Arsenal.
According to The Daily Express, Partey made his first in-person appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court upon being indicted by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
The Ghana international faces three charges against one lady and two counts of rape against another.

According to CPS, the allegation of sexual assault concerns a third lady. He has however, refuted every accusation.
The Metropolitan Police stated that the first complaints of a rape allegation were received in February 2022, and the allegations pertain to three women who described incidences that occurred between 2021 and 2022.
Members of the public were able to attend the court date, which was marked as a first hearing rather than a plea hearing.
The magistrates will determine any bail requirements, and any charges must be handled in a Crown Court.
In a statement on July 4, when Partey was charged, his lawyer Jenny Wiltshire said: “Thomas Partey denies all the charges against him.
“He has fully cooperated with the police and CPS throughout their three-year investigation.
“He now welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name. Given that there are now ongoing legal proceedings, my client is unable to comment further.”

Numerous publications have reported that Partey is in advanced negotiations with La Liga side Villarreal.
According to the league’s regulations, players who have been charged with a crime or are being investigated for one are not barred from signing for a club.
