Former Real Madrid and AC Milan forward, Luka Jovic is reportedly nearing a move to Greek side, AEK Athens as he looks to revive his career following difficult stints in Spain and Italy.
According to Marca as reported by Goal, Jovic will be joining Athens after turning down a bid from Real Oviedo, a recently promoted La Liga side.
The Serbian striker has agreed to a contract with Athens through June 2027 after failing to make an impression at Real Madrid and AC Milan in the past.
Following weeks of heated negotiations with Oviedo, Jovic finally turned down their offer in favor of the Greek club’s proposal. He is in Athens right now to undergo his medical and complete the transfer.

Jovic Struggled To Live Up To Expectations At Real Madrid
After moving to Madrid in 2019 for €63 million (£54 million) from Eintracht Frankfurt, Jovic struggled to live up to expectations, scoring just three goals in 51 games before having minimal success at Fiorentina and Milan.
Athens have taken advantage of Jovic’s yearning for a new beginning, to the extent that he even turned down Cruz Azul, despite Real Oviedo’s efforts to get him before they return to La Liga.
With the aim of reviving his career with the Greek Super League club, the move is anticipated to become official following medical checks.
Jovic became a free agent earlier this summer when his Milan contract expired.
Although he scored 13 goals in 47 games while he was with the Rossoneri, injuries have dogged his career ever since he left Frankfurt, where he became the youngest player in Bundesliga history to score five goals in a single game.
