Arsenal prospect, Max Dowman faced Martin Odegaard head-to-head in a training session and then showed his potential.
So far in the preseason, the youngster has been one of the Gunners’ most impressive players.
Even though Dowman is only 15 years old, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has taken notice of him. Last week, he gave the attacking midfielder a 25-minute runout against AC Milan.
Dowman received another 30-minute stint in Sunday’s 3-2 triumph over Newcastle United in Singapore as a result of his encouraging performance against the Rossoneri.
His outstanding dribbling abilities were on full show, earning a penalty which Odegaard scored.
Although it’s unclear if Dowman’s preseason exploits will get him a consistent starting position in the first team, the teenager has undoubtedly had a positive effect.
According to The Mirror, the excitement surrounding Dowman’s potential was further heightened by a recent training session video posted on Arsenal’s YouTube site.
Dowman was able to immediately control the ball after collecting a pass on the wing, cutting inside to start his run after generating space from his marker.
He went past a challenge before skillfully flicking the ball away from Arsenal captain Odegaard and carried on his attack.
After a quick move down the flank, Dowman showed off his speed to beat another defender, but his cross hit the side netting. “Unlucky” was said by an upbeat voice off-camera.
Arsenal fans are thrilled with excitement about the teenager’s future.
