Partey, 32, left Arsenal on June 30 after not receiving a new contract, just days before being charged over alleged incidents from 2021–2022.

Police confirmed his arrest on July 4, with the midfielder set to appear before magistrates on August 5. He denies all the allegations.

Arsenal responded to the situation by stating they couldn’t comment further due to ongoing legal proceedings involving their former player.

When asked during pre-season in Singapore if the charges influenced the contract decision, Arteta said: “The club was very clear.”

Pressed further on whether due process was followed, he responded firmly: “100%, yes,” refusing to elaborate due to legal complexities.

Arteta also addressed the club’s transfer plans, including strong links to Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres, but declined to comment directly.

He noted the need to improve squad depth, particularly in attack, after injuries last season exposed their limited forward options, reports RTE.

Arsenal have already signed four players this summer, including Martin Zubimendi and Noni Madueke, as they gear up for title contention.

The Gunners’ pre-season tour continues with matches against AC Milan, Newcastle, and rivals Tottenham ahead of the new season.
