Real Madrid Preparing Move For Man City Star

Real Madrid are reportedly plotting a move for Manchester City midfielder, Rodri as they look set to finally end their defensive midfield woes.

There is a desire to prevent a recurrence of the issues that plagued the no.6 position last season in Xabi Alonso’s first season as manager.

Real Madrid currently have three natural pivots: Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, and Dani Ceballos.

However, due to their inconsistent performance over the past 12 months, there is a desire to bring in a new, elite player.

Real Madrid Officials Identify Rodri To Solve Their Midfield Problems

Additionally, club executives have determined that Rodri Hernandez is their ideal target. Diario AS as claimed by Football Espana, Real Madrid are keeping an eye on the 29-year-old’s situation at the Etihad.

After missing nine months of action due to an ACL injury, Rodri made his comeback at the Club World Cup, where Los Blancos officials questioned his play.

They are anticipated to repeat this when Man City resume Premier League action, with the view of making a move in 2026 if he has recovered to his best playing form.

Though, they will do this only if he does not sign a new contract with the Cityzens.

In this situation, Rodri would present a market opportunity, but there is no assurance that he won’t sign a new deal with City during the next 10 to 12 months.

However, Real Madrid have other options if the potential does not materialize, such Liverpool midfielder, Alexis Mac Allister, Nicolo Barella of Inter, and Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez.

The perception that City’s asking price would be within or higher than €100 million, however, makes signing the Spain international uncertain.

Since Rodri would still have 12 months left on his deal with Man City by next summer, the Spanish giants would not have to pay this much for a new midfield player.
