Pedro scored both goals in Chelsea’s 2-0 semi-final victory, knocking out his former club and sending the Blues to Sunday’s final.
Despite the goals, Pedro chose not to celebrate against Fluminense, calling it a “dream” moment but showing respect to his old team.
Silva, speaking after the match, revealed his long-standing admiration for Pedro, describing the young Brazilian as a “special talent” with huge potential.
“I faced him at Watford,” Silva told Globo. “He had two great games against Chelsea. I said then, ‘This kid is special.’”
Silva shared how Pedro now works with his own physiotherapist and even trains alongside Silva’s children during recovery sessions in Europe.
He added: “He inspired today’s win. One of our own kids knocked us out, but I wish him all the best.”
Silva also commented on the final, saying he’ll support Chelsea, unless they face Paris Saint-Germain, another club close to his heart.
“If it’s PSG, my heart will be split. If it’s Madrid, I’m all in for Chelsea,” Silva concluded warmly, reports Goal.
Chelsea face Real Madrid or PSG in Sunday’s final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
