Manchester United Eye Cut-Price Deal for Chelsea Striker In Attacking Shake-Up

Manchester United are reportedly willing to complete a surprise move for Chelsea star Christopher Nkunku as they seek to rebuild a failing squad.

After a disastrous 15th-place finish—their worst Premier League campaign ever—United are bracing for a major attacking exodus with Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho all expected to leave.

With talks for Bryan Mbeumo stalling, United have turned to Nkunku, who could be available for just £35 million, per reports from Fichajes.

That’s a steep drop from the £52 million Chelsea paid for the French forward in 2022, but injuries and inconsistent minutes have limited him to just 26 starts in two seasons, despite scoring 18 goals in 60 appearances.

United view Nkunku as a starter-level signing who could thrive with regular playing time—especially with no European competition in the 2025–26 season.

At RB Leipzig, Nkunku was electric, even finishing joint top-scorer in his final Bundesliga campaign. A move to Old Trafford could revive that form.

Chelsea, meanwhile, appear open to selling, with Todd Boehly’s unpredictable transfer strategy focusing now on recouping fees and rebalancing the squad, reprots Four Four two.

This could be a low-risk, high-reward deal for Amorim’s new United era.
