Tottenham Failed In Their Second Attempt To Sign Mohammed Kudus

According to Graeme Bailey’s TBR Football report, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Mohammed Kudus. The Lilywhites are looking to strengthen their offensive unit by adding a dynamic attacker during the summer transfer window. So the 24-year-old West Ham United forward has surfaced as a potential target for the North London club.

The 2024/25 UEFA Europa League winners had previously failed in one attempt to sign the former Ajax attacker, but they returned with a £55 million offer this week. However, the current offering has not persuaded West Ham, with the East London club wanting about £65 million to part ways with Kudus during the summer transfer window.

Mohammed Kudus and his West Ham United rollercoaster

Mohammed Kudus has had a rollercoaster of emotions since joining West Ham United from Ajax in August 2023. The 24-year-old was outstanding in his debut season but had a disappointing 2024/25 season after suffering from the infamous “second season syndrome”.

In 35 appearances across all competitions during the 2024/25 season, the Ghanaian international managed only five goals and four assists. Kudus, on the other hand, remains a hot property in the market, with numerous well-known clubs in Europe after him. Premier League officials, in particular, are interested in recruiting the youngster, with Tottenham Hotspur among those fighting for his services in the summer transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Mohammed Kudus makes sense. The Lilywhites are looking for a dynamic attacker this summer, since Richarlison’s long-term future remains unknown. In addition, Timo Werner has returned to RB Leipzig following a disastrous loan spell, while Son Heung-min is nearing the end of his career.

So, Kudus has surfaced as a possible target for Tottenham, with the former Ajax forward eager to join the North London club. However, the North London giants failed in their latest attempt to capture Kudus, having offered West Ham United a £55 million package to gain his talents.
