Viktor Gyokeres is reportedly furious with Sporting Lisbon for going back on their promise over his summer transfer release clause.

The Swedish striker, who has been heavily linked with Manchester United, was assured a €60m move with €10m in add-ons this summer.
However, Sporting are now demanding closer to €80m, despite a previous gentleman’s agreement with Gyokeres about a lower fee.
The U-turn has infuriated the 27-year-old, who feels betrayed by the club and has scrubbed Sporting from his Instagram profile.
Gyokeres has also removed references to Sweden and Nike, suggesting a wider frustration with his current situation and brand affiliations.
After netting 97 goals in 102 matches since arriving from Coventry, Gyokeres is one of Europe’s most in-demand strikers this summer.
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is keen to reunite with his former striker to lead the line at Old Trafford, reports Daily Mail.
The Red Devils have already signed Matheus Cunha and are pursuing Bryan Mbeumo, but Amorim wants a reliable centre-forward too.
United remain front-runners, but Sporting’s inflated price tag could complicate the deal unless Gyokeres forces the situation in coming weeks.
Gyokeres’ frustration reflects a growing trend of players challenging clubs on verbal agreements. With Euro 2025 looming, resolution is expected swiftly.
