Jadon Sancho ‘To Leave Chelsea And Return To Man United’ – After Blues ‘Pay £5m Penalty’ To Terminate Ties

Jadon Sancho is expected to quit Chelsea and return to his parent club Manchester United.

Chelsea will pay a £5 million cancelation fee to avoid the £25 million obligation to buy that was part of his loan arrangement.

According to The Athletic, the two parties were unable to reach an agreement on the terms of his permanent stay at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have already stated that they are not considering taking that step, but it remains unclear whether Sancho will stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the end of the season.

Sancho joined Dortmund on loan for the second part of last season after falling out with former United manager Erik ten Hag over the Dutchman’s public criticism of his training performances.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, United’s co-owner, mentioned Sancho in an interview with BBC sports editor Dan Roan as a player the club is “buying” this summer due to unpaid payments after his £73 million deal from Dortmund in 2021.

“For Sancho, who obviously now plays for Chelsea, and we pay half his wages, we are paying £17m to buy him in the summer,” Ratcliffe said reporters.

The 24-year-old impressed upon his arrival to Stamford Bridge, but his form has subsequently slipped.

Sancho has only provided one assist in 18 games since scoring the last of his two goals this season against Tottenham on December 8.

Chelsea are said to be looking to sign another winger and a striker this summer.
