In the first leg of the Europa League semi-final at San Mames, Man United won by an unexpected three goals, with Hojlund leading the charge once more.

Athletic defender Dani Vivian pulled Hojlund down following Casemiro’s opening goal in the 30th minute.

After the Video Assistant Referee intervened, Bruno Fernandes converted the spotkick, Vivian was sent off, and a penalty was awarded.

Amorim was happy with Hojlund’s performance in Spain, despite the fact that he did not score and currently has two goals in 30 United games, reports Manchester Evening

“I think it was the best game that he had with me as a coach.,” Ruben Amorim opined.

“He helped the team a lot, he secured the ball and then made the runs, he decided quite well.

“It is a good moment for him but, like Harry (Maguire), he needs to understand that everything can change.

So let’s focus on the next one. This is in the past. We have a tough job to do on Sunday and on Thursday.”
