Three Chelsea Players Set To Leave With Maresca Getting £32M Pair In Return

Chelsea are reportedly looking to temporarily part ways with three players on loan to Strasbourg this summer with in-form duo set to be welcomed to Stamford Bridge.

There is little question that manager Enzo Maresca, who has been closely monitoring the two players loaned to Chelsea’s sister club in Ligue 1 last year, will have been pleased with what he has seen.

Goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic and midfield sensation Andrey Santos are anticipated to be offered opportunities in the Chelsea first team squad due to their impressive performances for Champions League-chasing Strasbourg.

Both Filip Jorgensen and Robert Sanchez have struggled in goal this season, which could open the door for Petrovic, who made 31 appearances across all competitions in 2023–2024 but was let go by Blues management last summer.

Santos, on the other hand, has made a name for himself as a reliable middle-of-the-park scorer and a fierce tackler. The young Brazilian is expected to make his debut at the redesigned FIFA Club World Cup this summer after his exploits in Ligue 1 have been too good for Maresca to overlook.

Who Are The Players Expected To Leave Chelsea For Strasbourg?

According to the Daily Express, Chelsea are prepared to send three players in the other direction in order to preserve their cordial relationship with Strasbourg and make up for recalling Petrovic and Santos, who were acquired for a total of £32 million in 2023.

According to L’Equipe, Jorgensen or Mike Penders, the 19-year-old shot-stopper who hasn’t even joined the Blues since last summer’s £17 million transfer deal, might take Petrovic’s spot.

The player anticipated to exit next is Mathis Amougou, a young midfielder who was acquired from Saint-Etienne this winter for £12 million

Kendry Paez is said to be the third and last transfer going through the pipeline. After progressing through the ranks with Ecuadorian team Independiente del Valle, the 17-year-old recently moved to Europe and began training with Strasbourg as part of his bedding-in process.
