Former Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernandez is still not in a rush to take on the dugout.
The Spanish legend has rejected several offers since leaving Barcelona in 2024, including the most recent managerial offer from Spartak Moscow in Russia, as he looks for a project that genuinely aligns with his football philosophy. Xavi prioritizes vision over convenience, thus he intends to wait for the next step while clubs circle.
Xavi hasn’t taken on a new managerial position since quitting the Blaugrana in the summer of 2024.
Even though he left Camp Nou with respect, there was a hint of tension because it showed him as a club legend leaving a project that no longer aligned with his values.

The 45-year-old has been linked to a number of teams over the past few months, including Manchester United, Ajax, and most recently, Al Ittihad, but none of these offers have persuaded him.
Xavi Rejects The Chance To Join Spartak Moscow
Spartak Moscow, a Russian Premier League team, made the most recent offer. According to reports, they intended to develop a new project under sporting director Francis Cagigao and thought Xavi would be the ideal leader.
However, Sport reports that the former Barcelona coach turned down the offer because he wasn’t impressed with the project’s direction and didn’t want to go right into another stressful situation.
The 2025–26 season is now a difficult time for Spartak, with inconsistent performance and pressure on coaching choices. Dejan Stankovic is currently their head coach, but the club are apparently thinking about replacing him because of their poor results, which have seen them earn just four points in the Russian Premier League’s first four matches this season.
After Xavi’s refusal, Spanish coach Luis Garcia has emerged as the front-runner to replace Stankovic, who is reportedly close to being sacked.
