Van Dijk Lauds Darwin Nunez For “Overall Play” In West Ham Win

Following Liverpool’s 1-0 victory over West Ham United, Virgil van Dijk has praised Darwin Nunez’s overall performance and expressed excitement about the possibilities of the striker becoming even better.

The Reds defeated David Moyes’ team with a valiant victory thanks to Nunez’s first Anfield goal for the team.

The Uruguayan directed Kostas Tsimikas’ exquisite cross from the left into the back of the net with a powerful header after 22 minutes.

Nunez scored his fifth goal for Liverpool since moving from Benfica in the summer, and Van Dijk was thrilled to have another potent and ‘different’ option in the squad.

What Did Van Dijk Say About Nunez?

Speaking about Nunez, Van Dijk said: “I think he has so much potential. He’s still young, he’s learning, he’s learning the way we play, he’s learning English.

“He’s the modern-day striker that causes defenders a lot of problems. You can see his runs in behind [against West Ham] and his build-up play is getting better.
