Todd Boehly Reacts After Mason Mount Joined Manchester United From Chelsea

Mason Mount has been lauded as a “consummate professional” by Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali following his move to Manchester United.

After bidding a tearful farewell to Blues fans in a social media video on Tuesday, the 24-year-old was confirmed as a United player on Wednesday.

Mount acknowledged that some Blues fans will be unhappy by his choice to depart the club after an 18-year tenure.

Mount was a two-time Player of the Year at Stamford Bridge, where he also won the Champions League, Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup.

Despite this, the England international was injured last season, and his relationship with the club’s owners deteriorated.

He was in the penultimate year of his contract with Chelsea when he turned down their final offer of a one-year extension in February.

Mount was subsequently put up for sale and signed a five-year contract with United for roughly £60 million.

Boehly and Eghbali issued a joint statement following the official confirmation.

“Mason is a consummate professional and a well-liked member of the club.” “We want to thank him for all of his efforts on and off the field during his time at Chelsea,” the statement said.
