Thiago Silva reveals how Ibrahimovic threw Gattuso in the bin during dressing room fight

Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva has revealed a rather amusing story of how Zlatan Ibrahimovic once picked Gennaro Gattuso up and stuck him in a bin during their days together at AC Milan.

Ibrahimovic played alongside both Gattuso and Silva at Milan as they won the Serie A title in 2010/11 – and the fiery Italian midfielder’s career was coming to a close at the time too.

Despite his ageing years, the ferocious battler was still alive in him and he came head-to-head with Ibrahimovic once, with a hilarious outcome.

Silva – who left Milan along with Ibrahimovic to win four straight Ligue 1 titles with PSG – has revealed a funny story of how Gattuso ended up in a bin.

“The protagonist of this story is Zlatan Ibrahimovic,” Brazil international Silva told Sky Deutschland, via Goal. “One day, during a training session, Gattuso spent all morning teasing Zlatan. He was provoking him, and Zlatan took it without apparently saying anything. In fact his revenge would come soon after.

“Rino [Gattuso] and Zlatan met again in the dressing room after training, and Ibra lifted the entire weight of his team-mate, flipped him over and threw him in the bin!

“It was crazy, we all started laughing thinking about Gattuso’s face. I swear, I couldn’t stop laughing for a week!”

Gattuso commanded respect at Milan after years of top notch service, but Ibrahimovic commands just as much – if not more – whenever he walks into a room, which is probably why the two did not come to blows over the bin incident.

The Swedish superstar has won the league title with every club he’s ever played for having turned out for Barcelona, Ajax, Milan, Juventus, Inter Milan and now PSG.

However, with his contract expiring at the French club, he’ll have to pick his next team carefully if he wants to keep his record going throughout his entire career as the Premier League beckons this summer.
