SUPER CUP: British Embassy issue Visas to 15 players, 5 officials of Buruj

The coast is now clear for the much publicised trip to the United Kingdom by Buruj Sports Academy to participate in the 2016 Welsh International Super Cup after the British Consular issued travel visas to all the 15 players and 5 officials on Thursday pencilled down for the tournament.

The process which commenced a couple of days ago came to a heartwarming conclusion on Thursday afternoon as all the players and officials were beaming with smiles after collecting the much coveted document.

The Managing Director of the academy, Salaudeen Waheed, was full of gratitude to God for crowing the efforts of the players and officials with success and of course the extremely polite officials of the British High Commission for their show of faith and support which eventually culminated in the issuing of the visas.

He also promised that his management will do everything possible to ensure that all the members of the contingent conduct themselves in a manner that will portray them as good ambassadors of Nigeria when they arrive in the Queensland.

“We thank God for granting us favour all through the process of visa application and procurement for all the players. We are also grateful to the officials of the British Consular office because they really surprised and impressed me.”

“From day one, they showed faith in everything we did and we also demonstrated to them that we know what we are doing in the business of football management- most especially when it comes to youth and grassroot aspect. Like we said the other time, we are going to ensure that all other government agencies like NAPTIP and Immigration Service in Nigeria are contacted for proper documentation so that the trip will be smooth, rewarding and fulfilling in the end,” he enthused.

The 2016 Welsh International Super Cup will kick off on August 4 at the sports complex of Cardiff City University and Buruj contingent are billed to jet out of the country on August 1. They will lodge at Ibis Cardiff City Centre Hotel all through the duration of their stay.

Meanwhile, Dr. Salaudeen Waheed has opined that more of such trips are on the way and his management will not rest on its oars in ensuring that more talented youngsters are exposed to world class tournaments in different parts of the globe.
