The Argentine’s current contract expires in the summer of 2023, but PSG wants to extend it until 2024. But Messi will only consider his future after the World Cup in Qatar.
Although an official contract offer for Messi has not yet been made, the club is demonstrating its readiness to make it happen.

Messi struggled during his debut year with the French national team. Mostly because of his adaptation process and multiple injuries, including Covid-19 and its ensuing ramifications.
Messi was only able to play 10 consecutive games with PSG, which was unheard of when he was a Barcelona player.
Messi is already training in Paris in preparation for the upcoming season, even shortening his vacations by a week to begin his workout regimen.
PSG’s first game of the season will be against Nantes in the French Super Cup on July 31st, with Ligue 1 starting just a weekend later.
