Michael Owen has urged Liverpool to pursue West Ham star Jarrod Bowen as a “absolutely perfect” Mohamed Salah substitute.
Jurgen Klopp, the beloved former Liverpool manager, was a known fan of Bowen, who has been linked with a transfer to Anfield on and off in recent years.
And now that West Ham have been relegated from the Premier League, Bowen might join Liverpool or another Big Six team this summer.
Despite West Ham’s troubles, Bowen has been outstanding this season, finishing with nine goals and eleven assists, Reported By Football 365.
Bowen undoubtedly deserves to stay in the Premier League, and Owen has outlined why he believes the England international might be a “absolutely perfect” alternative for Salah.

“Under normal conditions, no. But he’s such a West Ham chap; he’s the captain, he’s loved by the club, and his family is all from the region,” Owen told Premier League Productions.
“If any significant player is going to get demoted and persist with it, you will see it.
“However, Jarrod Bowen is incredible; you’ve had a short career, and he should be playing in the Premier League.”
“If something really, really fascinating [is provided], I’ve maintained for a long time, I don’t make any apologies. Mo Salah has left Liverpool, and I believe Bowen is the exact best replacement for Mo Salah at Liverpool.
“If an opportunity to play for Liverpool came his way, even the most diehard West Ham supporter couldn’t complain. Instead of playing in the Championship, go to one of the finest clubs in the world and fill Mo Salah’s shoes; this is quite exciting for him.
“However, if an opportunity doesn’t come from one of the big boys like that, then maybe he’ll fight his way back into the Premier League with West Ham.”
Bowen Speaks On His Future
The Hammers star remarks: “Like I said, it’s insulting to everyone to start talking about the future and predicting what will happen.
“Like I stated, I want this team to play in the Premier League. It’s a club that means a lot to me and has given me so much, therefore my goal is to get this club back into the Premier League.”
