Newcastle Considering Loan Move For Arsenal Goalkeeper Leno

Newcastle are considering a move for Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno as the German looks to resurrect his career.

The fine form of Aaron Ramsdale since his £32m arrival has left Leno warming the bench for most of this season.

Leno was dropped by Mikel Arteta after the Gunners’ miserable start this season and Arsenal’s rise up the table went hand-in-hand with Ramsdale’s performances.

So after three seasons as first choice at the Emirates Stadium, Leno is thought to be keen to leave north London.

But he might be staying in the Premier League, for now at least, with mega-rich Newcastle reportedly keen on a loan move for the Germany international.

Leno only has 18 months left on his contract, and Arsenal will likely be looking to sell him in the summer.

But according to German outlet Bild, he is being lined up for a loan move to Newcastle for the rest of the season to provide competition with Martin Dubravka.

Leno could soon move down to third choice with New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner believed to be a target for the Gunners as Ramsdale’s new back-up.
