Manchester United are ‘keen’ on signing Ederson from Atalanta this summer and are’sprinting’ to complete the transfer.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Manchester United is interested in signing the 26-year-old Brazilian, but have yet to submit a proposal.
Manchester United’s optimism
According to the report, the ‘general mood’ is positive about the midfielder joining the Premier League this summer.
Manchester United’s unexpected move might be the result of Atletico Madrid, the first to make a bid in January, loosening their grasp on the player. They are now looking at other players, such as Joao Gomes from Wolves.
In Spain, it is believed that Ederson would want to compete at a different level. This is despite having a personal agreement in place.
Atalanta’s asking price is presently clear: €50 million to sell the midfielder this summer. They are keen to receive such a’significant money’ so that they may reinvest and attempt to rebuild their midfield.
Ederson looks to be a top priority for Manchester United in the coming weeks. They are likely to lose Casemiro, and another Brazilian may be an excellent addition.
Manchester United’s interest is rising.
Reports indicate that they are increasing their interest in the Atalanta midfielder.
Sport Witness highlighted one such claim on May 8th, stating that they were willing to breach the €40 million barrier for the midfielder. That means there isn’t a significant pricing difference between them and Atalanta.
Manchester United were then encouraged by Atalanta’s CEO. He emphasized that they would consider any offers that came their way this summer. Those offers are likely to arrive sometime this summer.
At least in Italy, there is mounting speculation that Manchester United is poised to make a move. And Atletico’s decision to take a step back, at least for the time being, has allowed them to close a deal without competition.
