Manchester United are preparing a formal offer for Benjamin Sesko, hoping to beat Premier League rivals Newcastle United in the transfer race.
Newcastle reportedly submitted a £69.8m bid, but RB Leipzig rejected it, with discussions ongoing around the structure of a potential deal.

Sky Sports reports United have also spoken with Leipzig to determine what it would take to secure the 22-year-old striker’s signature.
Although open to both options, Sesko is said to be “leaning towards” joining Manchester United if terms can be agreed.
Ruben Amorim wants another striker, despite signing Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbuemo, as Sesko could be his first-choice No. 9.
After losing out on Delap and Gyokeres, missing Sesko would be another blow in United’s summer striker search.
Newcastle offer Champions League football, and Sesko could replace Alexander Isak, who is linked with a move to Liverpool.
Meanwhile, United may consider selling Rasmus Hojlund, who scored only 10 goals last season and struggled for consistency.
Signed for £64m in 2023, United are reportedly willing to accept just £30m if they can land Sesko this summer, reports Sports Mole.
Leipzig are interested in Hojlund, but the striker is not keen on returning to the Bundesliga at this stage.
