Manchester United Monitoring £69m Bayer Leverkusen Star, Newcastle Also Interested

Manchester United are keeping an eye on Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby, although Newcastle are also said to be interested in the midfielder, who may cost up to £69m.

According to Sky Germany, Man United and Newcastle both look to be finalizing their shortlists for the next summer transfer window, and Diaby is a player of interest to both teams.

The Red Devils’ interest, meanwhile, will depend on the outcome of their takeover, as Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim are still trying to purchase the team.

Meanwhile, Leverkusen may demand up to £69m ($85.7m), with Xabi Alonso considering Diaby to be a vital player.

This season, the France international has made 47 appearances across all competitions and has contributed to 25 goals. He scored 14 of those and further assisted 11.

His contract runs until 2025, meaning that Leverkusen are not under any great pressure to sell.

Meanwhile, if Manchester United defeats Chelsea on Thursday, they will guarantee their participation in the Champions League for the upcoming season, much like Newcastle has already done.

They will also seek to defeat Manchester City in the FA Cup final in order to prevent them from winning the treble.
