With nine minutes remaining, Liverpool pulled one back through Mohamed Salah, but United held on for a much-needed victory.

Marcus Rashford couldn’t conceal his joy after Manchester United won three points against Liverpool in a “big game.”
“It’s obviously a massive game for the club,” he told Sky Sports. Iโve always said regardless of the circumstances, youโre in a game against Liverpool, itโs massive, no matter what circumstances you are in.
โToday was massive so it was good to pick up the first win. We started the game at a higher tempo, we were tired towards the end, but we kept going and stuck at it.โ They got a goal back and we didnโt fold, we kept defending well and it was an enjoyable game to play in.โ
โIt was a goal Iโve scored quite regularly so it is important for me to get those types of goals,โ he said.
โI knew I felt I was in good areas, good positions. On another day I could have had a few more goals.
โIโll just keep going, keep working hard and focus on the next game.โ
