Man United Top Officials Regret Rashford Deal, Believe He Is Now Worth £50M

Manchester United chiefs are reportedly now regretting the deal to sell Marcus Rashford to Barcelona for £26 million.

Since going on loan to the Spanish powerhouses last summer, Rashford has turned around his faltering career.

He has scored 10 goals in 35 games and won back his position in Thomas Tuchel’s England side. United feel Rashford’s value is now closer to £50m – and know many other teams are interested in signing him this summer.

However, when the loan agreement was reached between the two clubs, United agreed to give Barca the first chance to sign him for no more than £26 million.

According to the Mirror, the conditions of the agreement are said to have disappointed several senior United officials.

Additionally, Barca might try to take advantage of Rashford’s desire to make his move to the Now Camp permanent by trying to work out an even lower price for the forward.

Carrick Wanted Rashford Back In Man United

There have been rumours that Michael Carrick, the interim manager, wants Rashford to return to United.

However, the loan agreement contains no recall clause, so even if everyone wanted him to, he couldn’t return to United.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a co-owner of United, is still determined to cut off Rashford from the team’s payroll. However, he is not excited about the possibility of letting Barca sign the 28-year-old for a low price.

Rashford is only the sixth-highest earner in the Barcelona team, despite being one of United’s highest-paid players.

And it’s understood Barca boss Hansi Flick is keen to keep Rashford long term.
