Man United Told to Land ‘£65m Rated Player’ To Replace Casemiro

Bryan Robson has urged Manchester United to hijack a £65m transfer battle for Elliot Anderson as the club prepares for life without departing midfielder Casemiro at the end of the season.

United are expected to lose Casemiro this summer, leaving a major gap in midfield that must be addressed if the club are to remain competitive domestically and in Europe next season.

Reports suggest that Manchester City are currently leading the race to sign Anderson from Nottingham Forest in a deal worth around £65 million, with the midfielder reportedly open to a move to the Etihad Stadium.

Robson calls Anderson “ideal” replacement

Robson believes United should act decisively in the transfer market and attempt to beat their rivals to the signing, describing Anderson as a perfect long-term replacement for Casemiro’s role.

The former United captain admitted he was disappointed the club are set to lose Casemiro but praised his experience, leadership, and passing ability during his time at Old Trafford.

He argued that Anderson offers the right profile to rebuild United’s midfield, especially given the club’s struggles in recent years to identify and secure elite reinforcements, reports Mirror.

Robson also ruled out a move for other high-profile targets, suggesting some options are unrealistic for United at this stage, further strengthening his case for prioritising Anderson.

With pressure mounting on the club’s recruitment strategy, the midfielder is now viewed as one of the most important potential signings of the summer window.
