Man United Surpass Real Madrid With Record-Breaking Shirt Sponsorship Deal With Snapdragon

The Red Devils’ newly-announced deal with Qualcomm’s subsidiary company has overtaken Real Madrid Fly Emirates sponsorship.

Not only have Manchester United finally found a new mega-money shirt sponsorship deal, but the Premier League giants have also overtaken Real Madrid as the club with the most lucrative sponsorship following this latest arrangement.

As revealed on their official website, the Red Devils have reached an agreement with Snapdragon to replace TeamViewer as the UEFA Champions League side’s front-of-shirt sponsor.

Snapdragon is a subsidiary of U.S. technology company Qualcomm, which is worth over $100 billion, and has been one of Manchester United’s global partners for a year.

According to the Daily Mail, this deal is worth £60M per year (roughly $75.1M annually), making it the most expensive front-of-shirt package, overtaking Real Madrid’s Fly Emirates arrangement. Additionally, this will run for a minimum of three years, as per the Athletic.

This sponsorship comes on the back of the failure to extend their existing deal with TeamViewer. The German company had a contract worth roughly $55M per year but agreed with Manchester United to sell back their shirt sponsorship rights to the club following pressure from shareholders during the pandemic who labeled this deal as an “appalling judgment”.

TeamViewer will remain on Manchester United shirts until the end of the season before officially being replaced by Snapdragon. This is a huge boost for the club as it secures more funds following a difficult financial period recently under the Glazers, who, despite the well-documented sale process, look set to remain as owners.

As for Erik ten Hag and his players, their focus remains on the season and their upcoming weekend fixture. The English giants return to action this Saturday in what will be a tough remainder of the month, with Rashford and Co. facing Brighton and Bayern Munich straight after the break before locking horns with Crystal Palace in back-to-back games towards the end of the month.

Peacock will bring exclusive coverage in the USA of their upcoming clash with Brighton as Ten Hag’s men aim to return to winning ways following their gutting 3-1 loss away to Arsenal just before the break.
