Manchester United are reportedly planning a move for another midfield signing after agreeing a deal to Ederson from Atalanta.
Manuel Ugarte is anticipated to follow Casemiro out of Old Trafford this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano, who made it known that United are contemplating a second midfield acquisition.
Ederson’s excellent play in Serie A makes him an intriguing addition to the Red Devils team, but the Brazil international won’t be sufficient on his own and the Manchester club are seeking for another player in the middle of the park.
“Ederson will only be the first midfield signing at Man United, at least another one has been planned. Casemiro and Ugarte to leave so #MUFC will add one more, could be two under certain conditions,” the Italian journalist said.

Ederson is a good all-around player in the midfield who can both bring the ball forward and do his defensive duties.
Given that Ugarte is also more defensively inclined, the 26-year-old will likely be assigned to a more defensive role at United since it would make sense to view him as a replacement for the departing Casemiro.
Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo are two of United’s more advanced midfield players who prioritize scoring and assisting, therefore the team’s second midfield acquisition will most likely follow suit.
United Interested In Wharton And Anderson
The Sun and others have linked United to Adam Wharton, and several reports have stated that there has been much discussion about contending with Manchester City for Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson.
It makes sense for United to prioritise midfield this summer, but it will be intriguing to watch whether they are tempted to bolster other parts of their team as well, since they might be able to improve on one or two players in both attack and defence.
