Man United ‘Offered’ Sancho To Chelsea In Audacious Swap Deal

Manchester United reportedly offered Jadon Sancho to Chelsea in a swap deal that involved Marc Cucurella before the end of the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old and Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag had a public argument following Sunday’s 3-1 loss to Arsenal.

The player vehemently denied the Dutch manager’s assertion on social media that the former Borussia Dortmund star was not performing at the required level in training.

Ten Hag was direct in his response when asked why Sancho was not included following the Red Devils’ defeat in north London.

“Jadon, on his performances in training we did not select him. You have to reach a level every day at Manchester United and we can make choices in the front line. So for this game he was not selected,” he said.

Sancho, though, disputed the assertion and instantly responded on social media. He stated: “Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is (sic) completely untrue. I have conducted myself in training very well this week.

Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that Chelsea were offered the chance to sign the former England player as part of a swap deal with Marc Cucurella.

United had targeted the Spaniard in order to help provide cover at left-back before signing Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilon. This comes as tensions between Sancho and Ten Hag are evidently rising.

Sancho’s name had been brought up in conversation. But Chelsea chose Manchester City starlet Cole Palmer for that role. The England U-21 international was bought for £42.5 million on the final day of the transfer window.
