The veteran has been speaking with Juventus, but is now pulling back from negotiations.
Instead, Deportes Cuatro reports Suarez is now discussing terms with Atletico and the prospect of remaining in the LaLiga next season.
Suarez favours remaining in Spain and would welcome the chance to work with coach Diego Simeone.
The veteran was told to find himself a new club by Ronald Koeman just days into the Dutchman’s appointment at Barca.
