Yan Diomande’s rumored desire to join Paris Saint-Germain this summer if he leaves RB Leipzig has delivered Liverpool a severe transfer blow. After securing Victor Munoz’s services, the Reds had identified Diomande as a major target to replace Mohamed Salah.
Earlier this month, Liverpool informed Leipzig that they would pay roughly £86 million for Diomande, which is equivalent to a deal worth roughly €100 million. After an outstanding debut season in the Bundesliga, the Ivory Coast star has emerged as one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers.
However, The Athletic reports that Diomande has selected PSG as his next destination in the event that a move away from Leipzig occurs this summer, which is a blow to Liverpool’s transfer chances.

Ivory Coast defeated Curacao 2-0 on Thursday night to go to the 2026 World Cup round of 32, with Diomande setting up two-goal hero Nicolas Pepe.
After the match, Diomande stated unequivocally that his main priority right now is supporting his nation at the World Cup.
“I don’t know right now,” he responded. After the World Cup, I’m not considering my future. I’m making every effort to give the World Cup my all, and we’ll see what happens after that. I have nothing to say about it.
He stated: “I can say: If I were sporting director, I wouldn’t sell this young player, who hasn’t even completed a full season with us. “regardless of the asking price. Given how young he is, I think he has room to grow as a player. And he may probably become more expensive.”
